Turban Treat

Like most fashion trends, Sex and the City is always at the forefront of style.
Some of us may have ridiculed (others adored!) the turban Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC2 that came out in May last year. I, however, was one of the people who loved the turban, what better way to achieve a desert chic look? Now the high street has caught on (about a year late I may add) and turbans are readily available for us fashionistas to work Carrie’s Abu Dhabi look.

I wore my turban a few weekends ago, it is a hair band inspired turban from ASOS but now after trying out the trend I reckon I want to go the whole hog and get a full turban. If you are going to try a similar look I recommend wearing your hair wavy and with extensions (if you don’t have natural long locks like yours truly!)

ASOS £12

This full turban from ASOS is in a striking blue colour that would look gorge on a summer holiday, perfect for sightseeing days or chilled out nights teamed with a black maxi.

BooHoo £5 (Was £10)

Or, if you are not ready for the turban trend, why not try testing it out with this knitted turban style headband from BooHoo. Great way of bringing the turban into winter while we wait for the more temperate months.

Someday or Today: Camel Dresses

Have been drooling over this Chloe leather dress for quite a wee bit at work. Bang on trend with the minimalistic look that Spring/ Summer is set for….however, let’s be honest if I had that amount of cash to splash on a dress I wouldn’t of just taken advantage of the 4 Pot Noodles for £2 offer at ASDA now would I? So to feed my lust for this dress I think I will have to buy this gorge camel dress from ASOS, only £45 and it would look amaze teamed with some sky scraper heels and a boxy clutch.

Take a hike

As the seasons change so do our footwear choices.

The gladiator sandals are now hidden away waiting for Summer to hit once more and it is time to bust out the old Winter favourite – the Boot.

After months of the Biker boot being a fashion fave, a new unlikely boot style is now in vogue –  the hiking boot.

Before I lose you and you think I want you to take a trip down to Millets, I can reassure you this boot is damn fabulous and is already all over the high street.

With fierce heels and laced-up studs, these boots certainly won’t fare well on any fells but the shearling trim is a nod to the aviator trend without having to invest in a pricey flying jacket.

Student fashionistas

Fabulous fashion news for all you academics: ASOS are now offering a discount of 10% for all NUS student card holders.

What better way to use your discount on this black maxi – perfect for working the massive long/short trend that is about to hit the high street.

Geeking up has never been so chic.

Fashion goes TopGun

The Burberry A/W2010 catwalks were littered with the new ‘it’ jacket – The Aviator.

But no worries as you don’t need a designer income to achieve this flying fashion look.

This jacket should be your number one autumn investment and many high street retailers such as River Island and ASOS are already offering their take on the trend.

My favourite is this £59.99 jacket from River Island. It would look great with jeans and biker boots for a casual look or toughen up a floral dress by layering it over the top.

Camel Couture

Camel Coats autumn/winter 2010 trend

Autumn/ Winter 2010 is fast approaching and the fashion buzz word of the moment is Camel.

Camel coloured tones will be so popular that trendspotters predict there won’t be room to swing a cat on the high street due to the number of people strutting down it in camel cover-up coats.

But why the appeal of the Camel coat? Is it due to the versatility of it, how it can be worn with pretty much anything or is it the chic timelessness it seems to have. Personally, I think it is the way you can bring any outfit from drab to fab just by throwing the Camel coat on and cinching in the waist.

For the ultimate could-be-designer camel coat, go to Asos for this hooded camel cape for £80, worth every penny.

Katy Perry wears ASOS

Now that ASOS is launching an American site in Autumn it seems that US stars such as Katy Perry are jumping on the online shopping bandwagon.

This sequin dress is a great way to embrace the club Tropicana trend and for £65 it’s a great way of copying K-Pez.

Now, where can I find those sunglasses….
