Like most fashion trends, Sex and the City is always at the forefront of style.
Some of us may have ridiculed (others adored!) the turban Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC2 that came out in May last year. I, however, was one of the people who loved the turban, what better way to achieve a desert chic look? Now the high street has caught on (about a year late I may add) and turbans are readily available for us fashionistas to work Carrie’s Abu Dhabi look.
I wore my turban a few weekends ago, it is a hair band inspired turban from ASOS but now after trying out the trend I reckon I want to go the whole hog and get a full turban. If you are going to try a similar look I recommend wearing your hair wavy and with extensions (if you don’t have natural long locks like yours truly!)
This full turban from ASOS is in a striking blue colour that would look gorge on a summer holiday, perfect for sightseeing days or chilled out nights teamed with a black maxi.
BooHoo £5 (Was £10)
Or, if you are not ready for the turban trend, why not try testing it out with this knitted turban style headband from BooHoo. Great way of bringing the turban into winter while we wait for the more temperate months.
Sarah Jessica Parker wowed the crowds at the world premiere of Sex and The City 2 in New York last night. The actress, who plays Carrie, walked the red carpet wearing a bright Valentino gown.
The lemon dress will no doubt leave fashion critics undecided, due to the fact that yellow can sometimes make blondes look washed-out, however I think she managed to make the look work for her in this asymmetrical number.
Sarah Jessica looked like she was having a fabulous time in her dress as she was pictured twirling around (Note to self: I officially need a dress with a train)
Kristin Davis mirrored SJP in neon tones by wearing a vintage Jean Desses pink dress.
Kim Cattrall looked like a golden goddess in her Naeem Kahn dress and Cynthia Nixon opted for a classic black Carolina Herrera gown.
Bring on the London premier on Thursday 27th May – can’t wait to see what they will wear (and to watch the film, obviously!)
The upcoming SATC film isn’t just about new fashion as Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted wearing a dress that she wore during the TV series.
This Christian Dior dress was worn in 2000 during Carrie’s affair with a married Mr Big.
Well if SJP is doing it, we have to rework previous editions too…think I will be leaving some fashion faux pas in the past though.
Steal Carrie’s newspaper look with this Paparazzi clutch from Asos for £45, it will spruce up any LBD.

If you haven’t embraced a maxi dress yet then what is wrong with you??
The trend got quite popular last summer as ‘the’ holiday look but now the maxi dress is way more versatile and isn’t just for the beach.
This Pucci inspired maxi dress is only£30 from New Look, pair it with a cropped denim jacket for a perfect beer garden look.
