Barry M Nail effects

Don't worry, I know my nails totes clash with my bag but that's just the kinda girl I am x

Meaning to blog about this for a while now so here goes – Barry M Nail Effects nail varnish is totally the best thing ever.
Being someone who has quite a low-key beauty routine (I’m hopeless at false nails, hair extensions – the whole shabang), I completely fell in love with Barry M’s easy to use Nail Effects. Simply apply a base coat, wait to dry obvs, and then put one coat of Nail Effects over the top. At first you think “what the frig have I done?” as it just looks like a big black blob on your previously perfectly manicured talons but a few moments later the nail varnish separates and creates a cracked effect. Perfect for leopard print or graffitti inspired manicures, I went for a red base to try out a Ladybird look and loved it! Next time I reck I am going to apply a bronze colour so I can have leopard print claws.
My advice is to apply a clear coat over the top as mine chipped quite quickly.

Pass the crimpers

Crimpers - Check. Now where can I find the eye patch...

Anyone who knows me knows that I am rather lazy when it comes to my hair, I don’t straighten/ blow-dry it…I just wash it and let it do its own thang (thank gawd for natural waves). But recently I have been thinking perhaps it is time to mix it up a bit. My last pair of GHDs were commandeered by my younger sibling after I declared I refused to straighten my locks anymore and since then they have burst into flames (well sparks started shooting from the socket, but you get the picture) so sibling is now on probably her 8th set of GHDs ( they have a short shelf life in my bushy haired family).
After watching Rihanna’s amaze new video S&M I am inspired to get a set of crimpers to achieve the look…apparantly it is coming back big stylee so an investment is most certainly required.

Another celeb to rock the crimped look is fabooshka model Amber Le Bon. As an  Umberto Giannini model she obviously knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair so come on guys time to grab the crimpers and follow suit.

Ode to GA lashes…

So I take my usual trip to Boots to pick up my weekend essential – false eyelashes. And I don’t get just any old lashes that are hanging about – I always have to get the Girls Aloud lashes, the Sarah Harding ones…no it is not because we share a name, it is simply because hers are the best. Okay, I can cope with Nadine’s if Sarah’s are sold out but really Harding’s are my no1 choice (Cheryl’s make me look like a camel, Kimberley’s are boring and Nicole’s are far too whispy).
Anywho, as I bought my eyelashes it dawned on me how much of an essential these eyelashes are, I don’t know a single girl who does not count GA lashes as one of her handbag staples. But as Girls Aloud have been ‘on a break’ for a while now…what the frig are we all going to do if they ever break up? Does that mean Eylure will stop making these fantastic eyelashes? Surely not! If they ever break up I guarantee Superdrug will be a postapocalyptic war zone with girls fighting to the death. Just to grab the last remaining pairs just so they can stock up. This day will come soon….make sure you’re ready.

One from the Vault…

Fish and Chips, the new black

So continuing my fave fashion moments I have just unearthed this beauty. Some may look at it and think faux pas but I can’t beat a bit of tartan (I was born in Scotland cha’know). This was taken on a voyage to Blackpool one weekend with the boyf in ’06 (crikey, that was a hella long time ago!) . I have an addiction to anything with a skull print – one day I WILL afford an Alexander McQueen skull scarf, but until then this old NewLook scarf will be my saviour….now where did I last see it? :/

NEON

Jill Sander SS11 Show

Wowzer, I am simply in love with this look.
Neon tones are going to be absolutely huge this season. I never used to be a massive fan of fluro, reminds me too much of a tacky rave with tackier plastic bead necklaces. However, I can stand to be corrected – teamed with crispy whites and muted tones this new neon, if you will, screams sophistication and is a great way of bringing summer into your wardrobe (even if it is a rainy catastrophe outside).
Here are my pick of some fabulous neon looks. Team with fierce heels and minimal accessories. Whites and blacks look fabulous with brights or go all out and colour block it up…my eye is on the ASOS boxy clutch, someone buy it me please?

Mila Kunis – Red Hot

Think I am starting to have a bit of a fashion crush on this lady. Shunning Spring’s muted tones, Mila went all out in a fierce scarlet Alexander McQueen maxi. Deffo my style winner from the SAG awards. Minimal accessories to let this wild dress do all the talking.
I loved this girl after seeing her on That 70s Show and cannot wait to see more of this rising star’s looks…stay tuned peeps!

Someday or Today: Camel Dresses

Have been drooling over this Chloe leather dress for quite a wee bit at work. Bang on trend with the minimalistic look that Spring/ Summer is set for….however, let’s be honest if I had that amount of cash to splash on a dress I wouldn’t of just taken advantage of the 4 Pot Noodles for £2 offer at ASDA now would I? So to feed my lust for this dress I think I will have to buy this gorge camel dress from ASOS, only £45 and it would look amaze teamed with some sky scraper heels and a boxy clutch.
