I have absolutely abandoned FashionCrunch as of late – which I apologize for but I have been a teeny tiny bit busy so unfortunately my blog did suffer as a result.
Well, where to begin – I last left the blog during my internship in London at SheerLuxe.com – an amazing online fashion directory ( I recommend you all checking it out – if you have not yet done so!). After completing the internship – and having a pretty grand time – I moved back up north to the beautiful land of Warrington (note there is no sarcasm in my tone – I love my northern home). After moving back I landed the role of Junior Copywriter for an online marketing agency. Currently a week in, I am really enjoying it and can’t wait to get cracking.
I will be back on full form soon and really eager to start adding a few outfit posts of all my newest looks and – as always – keeping you all in the loop on my bargain finds.
Sorry for my delayed posts, London has been keeping me veerrrry busy!
But I am back on form now with a quick post on London Fashion Weekend. I got tickets free with work so decided to treat my sister and my friend Helen to a trip to Somerset House last weekend, for fashion, cocktails and more. Here are a few pics from last weekend…. ( I promise I will get time for a longer post soon :p )

Taking in the sights
A fabulous weekend – I wore my new Primark tights that have a tattoo print on them, they sure shocked a few onlookers who I had to constantly reassure “they’re faux!”
This girl loves customizaaang,
Me and my bestest went to Tower of London t’other week and due to having a shared love of the Tudors and the tyrant monarch Henry VIII, we decided we neeeeeded a Henry accessory. We were positively overwhelmed to find little pins with Henry’s face on (espesh ‘cos they were a mere 99p!) so I decided to pin mine to this badge necklace from Topshop. Looks pretty random I reck, and I want to find more badges to add to it.
Like most fashion trends, Sex and the City is always at the forefront of style.
Some of us may have ridiculed (others adored!) the turban Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC2 that came out in May last year. I, however, was one of the people who loved the turban, what better way to achieve a desert chic look? Now the high street has caught on (about a year late I may add) and turbans are readily available for us fashionistas to work Carrie’s Abu Dhabi look.
I wore my turban a few weekends ago, it is a hair band inspired turban from ASOS but now after trying out the trend I reckon I want to go the whole hog and get a full turban. If you are going to try a similar look I recommend wearing your hair wavy and with extensions (if you don’t have natural long locks like yours truly!)
This full turban from ASOS is in a striking blue colour that would look gorge on a summer holiday, perfect for sightseeing days or chilled out nights teamed with a black maxi.
BooHoo £5 (Was £10)
Or, if you are not ready for the turban trend, why not try testing it out with this knitted turban style headband from BooHoo. Great way of bringing the turban into winter while we wait for the more temperate months.
Fish and Chips, the new black
So continuing my fave fashion moments I have just unearthed this beauty. Some may look at it and think faux pas but I can’t beat a bit of tartan (I was born in Scotland cha’know). This was taken on a voyage to Blackpool one weekend with the boyf in ’06 (crikey, that was a hella long time ago!) . I have an addiction to anything with a skull print – one day I WILL afford an Alexander McQueen skull scarf, but until then this old NewLook scarf will be my saviour….now where did I last see it?
So, I have sooo many photos stored up in my laptop and have decided what better way to use them than to start featuring them on my blog. Everyone has that moment when they look back on their favorite outfits from the past (just me?) and an outfit isn’t just an outfit to me, it is a memory…of, say, a fabulous night out or a hilarious drunken time.
Getting the ball rolling on this section of my blog are my old faithful sequin hotpants… a steal from Topshop for £16, I think I worked these to the max…I always feel soooo Lady Gaga Bad Romance in them and refuse to throw them out – there will be a occassion in 2011 for them…I swear!
