#Todayimwearing Nautical and Lace

First official day in London town today, so in true fashionista style I am having a quick peruse of the shops to see if I can find any new favourite shopping haunts.

I’m rocking my favourite scarf – it is a nautical long scarf from River Island. I love wearing this scarf as it reminds me of the time when I bought it and accidentally put it in the sink when I was washing my hands…it was soaked before I had a chance to wear it!

Have a nice day. More posts soon 🙂 xxx

Daily wish list

Next has gone all Halston Heritage on us with this gorge orange dress.

The bright colour and the pleats are reminiscent of the Halston Heritage dresses that Sarah Jessica Parker loves so much. At £65 it is the perfect designer copy-cat for a bargain price.

However, if you are feeling generous you could donate some pennies to help me buy a real Halston Heritage dress, for £730 from NET-A-PORTER this is the same dress SJP wore to the NYC Met Ball

Everyone is talking about: Kate Middleton’s engagement dress

Everyone is really excited about the upcoming nuptials of our future King and Queen but fashionistas everywhere cannot stop drooling over Kate Middleton’s gorge engagement dress.

The navy blue Issa dress looks amazing on our fashionable future queeny and it sold out within 24 hours of Kate wearing it.

However, fear not if you didn’t manage to snap the £385 Issa dress up as Tesco have now launched the ‘Kate Middleton’ dress inspired by the very same one she wore.

This dress is in my kind of price bracket too at only £16 – get it quick!

4000 Hits on my blog – Thank you!!!

Wowzer! Have been informed my blog has had 4,000 hits…

really appreciate this! I know it may not sound like much but as it is a fairly new blog I am very grateful.

To celebrate I thought I would give you a Christmas gift list of the best things to buy any frugal fashionista this festive season! (feel free to buy me any of the below)

Number one: Purr by Katy Perry

In a cute pussycat bottle, Katy Perry’s debut fragrance Purr is a girly scent with top notes of peach nectar, forbidden apple and green bamboo. It is currently exclusively available at Selfridges but goes nationwide on the 20th November. Katy Perry is perfume obsessed and reportedly owns over 50 different bottles so let’s hope she has used this knowledge to make Purr a sell out scent.

Number two: Sparkly Shiny Sequiney Shoes!

As it is party season, any fashionista really can’t get through it without a pair of shoes that have the wow factor. I am a lover of sparkles and sequins so these shoes from Office are crazy yet cute and great for any xmas party. These shoes are now £58 (reduced from £88) so snap them up now online.

Number 3: The celebrity party dress

Cheapy high street store Peacocks + designer Pearl Lowe = Lots and lots of hot party frocks modelled by the gorge Daisy Lowe (and let’s face it, if Daisy was modelling a bin bag we would still go out and buy one)

Pearl Lowe’s range features snug winter coats and hoards of cute dresses.

My favourite is the pale pink party dress with embellished waistline and at £50 it is designer for less! Click here to buy!

Number 4: Pussybow blouse

Every celeb worth their salt is rocking a pussybow blouse.

Whether it is a tied loose or sharp around the collar a la Kourtney Kardashian, this look is sophisticated and smart – also, how haute are Kourtney’s Alexander McQueen shoes – Ferocious!

For a similar look, click on to ASOS for this £28 – team it with a leather pencil skirt and sky scraper heels. Click here to buy!

Or for a cheaper look try updating an existing white shirt with a length of black ribbon.

Number 5: Viva la Glam make-up from Mac

Mac make-up is a girl’s best friend so make sure a Viva La Glam lippie is on your chrimbo list.

Stars such as Dita Von Teese, Christina Aguilera and Fergie have been the face of Mac in the past and now Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are working Viva La Glam colours.

My favourite lipsticks are the frosty pink Saint Germain and the hot pink Girl about Town.

Leopard print and Aviator chic

Had one of those “why don’t I ever have anything to wear” moments the other day so hit up The Trafford Centre and got some new threads.

NewLook is awesome at the moment, I bought leopard print harems for £22.00 – absolute bargain! Naturally, I had to debut them on a night on the town.

I teamed the pants with my £12 Primark lace-up heels, Asos bangles and a trusty basic black tee from Topshop – Wardrobe Essential 101 – and the necklace is actually a Bando from Accessorize.

Also, as it is starting to get a wee chilly out, I simply had to work my sold out H&M Aviator jacket.

Hope you like the look! New looks coming soon and video content once I can get my video camera hooked up to my laptop.

Gig Chic

The thing I love about Winter is that I seem to always have tickets to go and watch lots of gigs – I even christen October as Rocktober every year to celebrate this.

But what is a gig without a rock chic outfit to go with it?

Me and my sister worked some laid-back rock looks at a recent show…

Try rocking up a maxi like me by teaming it with biker boots and a studded belt. This newspaper print maxi is from and the biker boots are from a market stall.

Here, I am wearing a gothic maxi skirt from Primark and a plaid shirt also from Primark, the lace body is from Asos. My fringe bag was a steal at £14.99 from H&M.
Kirsten is wearing converse (a gig essential!), Topshop bodycon skirt and a fierce t-shirt from celebrity favourite Wildfox.

Voluptuous Velvet

Velvet is having a big moment in fashion this Winter (thank god I kept my trusty velvet leggings from last year).

From bandeau dresses to asymetrical dresses and even the odd maxi, velvet seems to be everywhere.

I simply adore this velvet maxi dress from ASOS for £65.00, it ticks the boxes for velvet and the short/ long trend that is very A/W2010. Also this dress seems to highlight curves in a Jessica Rabbit style.

Another favourite of mine is this orange velvet TFNC dress for £45.00. The ruched detailing of this flatters curves and the colour makes it a very unique look. Team with some skyscraper chunky heels and you have the perfect party look to take you through Winter.
