Got Henry on my neck-a-lace

This girl loves customizaaang,
Me and my bestest went to Tower of London t’other week and due to having a shared love of the Tudors and the tyrant monarch Henry VIII, we decided we neeeeeded a Henry accessory. We were positively overwhelmed to find little pins with Henry’s face on (espesh ‘cos they were a mere 99p!) so I decided to pin mine to this badge necklace from Topshop. Looks pretty random I reck, and I want to find more badges to add to it.

Turban Treat

Like most fashion trends, Sex and the City is always at the forefront of style.
Some of us may have ridiculed (others adored!) the turban Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC2 that came out in May last year. I, however, was one of the people who loved the turban, what better way to achieve a desert chic look? Now the high street has caught on (about a year late I may add) and turbans are readily available for us fashionistas to work Carrie’s Abu Dhabi look.

I wore my turban a few weekends ago, it is a hair band inspired turban from ASOS but now after trying out the trend I reckon I want to go the whole hog and get a full turban. If you are going to try a similar look I recommend wearing your hair wavy and with extensions (if you don’t have natural long locks like yours truly!)

ASOS £12

This full turban from ASOS is in a striking blue colour that would look gorge on a summer holiday, perfect for sightseeing days or chilled out nights teamed with a black maxi.

BooHoo £5 (Was £10)

Or, if you are not ready for the turban trend, why not try testing it out with this knitted turban style headband from BooHoo. Great way of bringing the turban into winter while we wait for the more temperate months.

Militant

Rocked a military inspired look last weekend on one of my, now very frequent, sight-seeing trips around London. This weekend it was Tower of London, Tower bridge, London Eye and a few pubs (well the latter isn’t really sight-seeing but it was the weekend after all). Coat is from Primark (my boyf says I need a new coat after wearing this too much – but it’s my favourite!), jeans Primark again for £9 (yikes double Primarking – that’s bargainlicious!) and my bag is River Island, it is super trusty and I really don’t go anywhere without it.

Do it like Jessie J

With the Brits coming up, I thought I needed to discuss my favourite pop lady of the moment, Jessie J. Since hitting the scene with her smash hit ‘Do it like a dude’ Jessie J has been here, there and everywhere, and her new song ‘Price Tag’ is catapulting her further into stardom. Obvs I love a good tune, but Jessie’s unique style has also caught my eye. Mixing up street chic tees with glam rock leather leggings this girl is certainly making waves with her style too. Plus she loves rocking a jumpsuit – a girl after my own heart!

Barry M Nail effects

Don't worry, I know my nails totes clash with my bag but that's just the kinda girl I am x

Meaning to blog about this for a while now so here goes – Barry M Nail Effects nail varnish is totally the best thing ever.
Being someone who has quite a low-key beauty routine (I’m hopeless at false nails, hair extensions – the whole shabang), I completely fell in love with Barry M’s easy to use Nail Effects. Simply apply a base coat, wait to dry obvs, and then put one coat of Nail Effects over the top. At first you think “what the frig have I done?” as it just looks like a big black blob on your previously perfectly manicured talons but a few moments later the nail varnish separates and creates a cracked effect. Perfect for leopard print or graffitti inspired manicures, I went for a red base to try out a Ladybird look and loved it! Next time I reck I am going to apply a bronze colour so I can have leopard print claws.
My advice is to apply a clear coat over the top as mine chipped quite quickly.

Pass the crimpers

Crimpers - Check. Now where can I find the eye patch...

Anyone who knows me knows that I am rather lazy when it comes to my hair, I don’t straighten/ blow-dry it…I just wash it and let it do its own thang (thank gawd for natural waves). But recently I have been thinking perhaps it is time to mix it up a bit. My last pair of GHDs were commandeered by my younger sibling after I declared I refused to straighten my locks anymore and since then they have burst into flames (well sparks started shooting from the socket, but you get the picture) so sibling is now on probably her 8th set of GHDs ( they have a short shelf life in my bushy haired family).
After watching Rihanna’s amaze new video S&M I am inspired to get a set of crimpers to achieve the look…apparantly it is coming back big stylee so an investment is most certainly required.

Another celeb to rock the crimped look is fabooshka model Amber Le Bon. As an  Umberto Giannini model she obviously knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair so come on guys time to grab the crimpers and follow suit.
